These draft regulations concern you!
On September 3, 2025, the government published three draft regulations in the Gazette officielle du Québec, which could directly affect the rights of tenants in private seniors’ residences (RPAs). From that date, all interested parties have 45 days to submit their comments on these regulations and, in so doing, democratically exercise their rights.
Indeed, since these projects aim to modify rent-setting rules, add new obligations to lease amendment notices and update mandatory lease forms, they are likely to have a significant financial impact on the cost of PSR rents and services.
In keeping with its mandate to support RPP residents in exercising their rights, CAAP Montérégie will be analyzing these draft by-laws, and will shortly be making its comments and recommendations known.
