” Annual General Meeting: a renewed Board of Directors
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Thursday, June 10, 2021 – On June 2, the Centre d’assistance et d’accompagnement aux plaintes (CAAP) Montérégie held its 28th annual general meeting by videoconference, in compliance with public health regulations.
Three (3) positions were to be filled on the Board of Directors. Mrs Renée Flibotte, Mrs Lyne Gagné and Mr Ny Aina Randriaamanga were elected by the members present. We are grateful to have them join our Board of Directors, and believe that their contribution will benefit the organization and enable them to take on new challenges,” said Myriam Noiseux, Executive Director of CAAP Montérégie.
With the presentation of the annual report, those present were able to see all the work accomplished by the team for the year 2020-2021. It’s been a year of great change, and we’re delighted to have been able to inform, assist and support almost 1,500 people. These services include information and assistance for tenants of private residences for the elderly (RPAs) concerning leases and their rights, which are now offered by CAAP Montérégie. Financial statements were also presented.

CAAP Montérégie is mandated by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux to :
- Inform users and senior residents of their rights and how the complaints system works;
- Assist and accompany them if they wish to file a complaint with the Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner or the Québec Ombudsman;
Starting in April 2019, CAAP is mandated by the Ministère des Affaires municipales, et de l’Habitation to :
- Inform and assist seniors about private seniors’ residences leases and the rights and obligations they entail.
